Jack Daniel’s is not just a whiskey, but an icon. Although many refer to it as a bourbon, it is actually a Tennessee whiskey, and it gains its distinctly smooth and mellow character thanks to the unique Lincoln County Process. After being filtered through maple charcoal, it is aged in oak barrels, which enhances its deep, rich flavor profile. On the nose, sweet vanilla, caramel, and slightly smoky, charcoal notes blend together, with a subtle banana-like, fruity aroma also present. On the palate, the softness of caramel and honey meets the spiciness of vanilla and oak barrel aging, complemented by a slightly nutty, smoky finish. It’s no surprise that the legendary Frank Sinatra was a fan – he loved it so much that he always kept a bottle with him, and even had a bottle of Jack Daniel’s placed in his grave upon his passing.
